I'm sorry to hear about the editing issues you've run into. Based on the case details that Ian has linked, it looks like the previous report was due to the location of your roaming profile being on the network. To correct this, the recommendation was made to change your default storage location as outlined here:

We redirect all 'My documents' folders to a UNC path on a server. We don't redirect any profiles.
Soooo the questions I have are:
1. Given the above setup, where should the JIVE Store at default be changed to?
2. Where in the registry is this changed, the path on the other post you've linked to is incomplete?
Any assistance you can offer will be much appreciated.
