Escaping or encoding html content with the REST API?

    james.dellow

We recently had a problem updating content via the REST API (Update Editable Content) where the URL in a html link in the html content contained a domain and ampersands in the query string - like this:

      https://www.domain.com/index.php?key=pair&url=https://www.domain.com/somewherelse&value=one&value2=abc

This was fixed by escaping the & to &

Other than using ' not " in the anchor tag and escaping the & to & is there anything documented about what should be escaped or encoded when updating html content using the REST API?
