Is the Jive Albums application still alive? And how are permissions managed?

    Marcelo Yamada

We are considering the use of Jive Albums for the creation of images collections but two things worry us:

      • Is this application still alive? It's hard to find recent articles in the Jive Community; most of them were created in 2013 (three years ago).
      • How are permissions managed?
        • Only the user who created the album can edit it (what will become a problem everytime someone leaves the company)?
        • How is the visibility of albums managed? Are they strictly visible through the content (document, blog post, discussion etc.) where they were inserted?

          Hi Marcelo,

The Jive Album app is still available as part of the apps market. If a user leaves the company and is deactivated, the album will still be available in the content that they published it in but users are unable to add new photos. This is because only the owner of the album are allowed to make edits to.

This is correct, the albums are only visible in the content that they have been published in.

          Hope this helps
