    Issue in leveraging Jive's LDAP Group Sync feature

    udayk

      Hi Jive ,

      Syncing two or more selected groups that are siblings in nature (in LDAP tree structure).

      Syncing two or more selected groups that are not siblings in nature (in LDAP tree structure)

      We are looking out for options to use Jive8's OOTB LDAP GRoup Sync feature .

      In Jive 7, We couldn't use this as we faces issues syncing groups in multiple LDAP trees.

      we want to sync under tree:

      cn=ResponsibilityDomain,cn=Products,dc=com, etc..

      Other groups should not be synced.

      Then there are groups under tree cn=forums,cn=groups,dc=com

      We need to sync all groups under this tree.

      Would you please blet us know, if Jive supports such setup?

      If yes, what would be the Group Filter in this case?

      Thanks

      uday.

          Under the admin settings for the directory server (/admin/settings-directorygroup.jspa)  you should be able to define an "Area Filter" that will only pull groups in those two areas.

          Something like |((cn=ResponsibilityDomain)(cn=forums))

          You will probably have to play around with the filter from the command line to make sure it is pulling what you expect for the groups.  If the field containing the membership is called "uniqueNames" then combine that with the query like this:  &(objectclass=uniqueNames)(|(cn=ResponsibilityDomain)(cn=forums)))

          So yes it should be supported if you can get the filter setup to match and it looks like you can.
