Our group has worked on several data migrations like this and would be happy to help you out. Generally, migrations from one system to another are somewhat complex and require some analysis prior to doing the actual data movement. Things to take into consideration are user migration and permissions, structure of the content in origin system (Outlook 365) and in target system (Jive), content references, etc. Usually, a simple import script is not sufficient to cover all the business requirements and may make for headaches afterwards.
Jive doesn't provide any REST API or XML RPC to create some custom structure which could help us achieve this on our own?
It depends on your requirements.
Yes, there are REST APIs available to create users and content. The REST APIs, however, are not intended for bulk imports so don't give you as much control as you may need.
Again, much of the work is not in HOW the content gets into the system, but WHAT and WHERE. Migrations are at least 50% analysis. But knowing how to best import the content is important so you dont end up with 1000's of discussions that appear to have occurred on one day in 2016.
