Similar to what David mentioned here Re: Installing jive on Amazon EC2, using Jive in a virtualized environment is supported, as long as you meet the equivalent hardware and software requirements.
Regarding the documentation, that is the correct documentation but it appears it is the End-User version of the documentation rather than the administrative documentation, therefore I have provided the admin documentation here Core Help
