Why does the term WOP (or any variant) get changed to asterisks?

While working on a document in our social knowledge engine (of course powered by Jive), we were trying to highlight some New Zealander terms (specifically wop-wops). We we saved the document, we were surprised to see that the system had turned the first part of the term into asterisks. Is there an explanation for this?

      Thanks,

          Hi Emrys,

From your description, it sounds like there is a profanity filter in place in your instance what contains the word "wop" and/or "wops" If you are an admin user of the instance you should be able to check this via you admin console >> spaces >> filters and macros >> profanity settings

or, if you are not seeing words listed there I would recommend submitting a case in your secret customer group here in the Jive Community so that the next available support engineer can assist with further investigations specific to your instance.

          Thanks!
