I'm sorry to hear that you're having difficulties deleting a tileDef using REST API. Since this falls under development and is outside the immediate scope of Jive Customer Support, I've moved this thread to the Jive Developers space for input from the greater development community.

Check the tile instances to see if the definition is in use. I have not tried this from the API but if there are instances of the definition in use that may be returning the 403. In that case you can see if you have to query and remove the instances prior to removing the definition.

Hi - I still couldn't delete the tile using the API, even though I confirmed that it is not in use. However, I came across a solution (found here: Building a Jive Add-On - definition.json ) - to remove a tile - just reference the tile name and add "remove":"true", example:
