    Jive-n vs. Jive-x REST API?

    thundercat

      Hi community.

      Is the REST API for Jive-n different than the one from Jive-x?

      If they are, where can I find the documentation for each?

      I know, of course, this documentation, but I am not sure whether it applies to both Jive versions?

      Jive REST API v3.14

      Best Regards,

      Mark

          The REST API is the same for all versions of Jive.  Different Jive versions have different API versions, of course, which you get by calling {URL}/api/version.  For instance, you get the version the Jive Community is running on by calling https://community.jivesoftware.com/api/version:

          throw 'allowIllegalResourceCall is false.';
          {
            "jiveVersion" : "8.0.3.1 ",
            "jiveCoreVersions" : [ {
            "version" : 2,
            "revision" : 3,
            "uri" : "/api/core/v2",
            "documentation" : "https://developers.jivesoftware.com/api/v2/rest"
            }, {
            "version" : 3,
            "revision" : 11,
            "uri" : "/api/core/v3",
            "documentation" : "https://developers.jivesoftware.com/api/v3/rest"
            } ],
            "instanceURL" : "https://community.jivesoftware.com",
            "jiveEdition" : {
            "product" : "on-prem",
            "tier" : 0
            }
          }
