Yes it is possible via REST API. But I recommend you to check first.
There is another option of making direct changes into the database if you are on prem customer

We are a Jive Cloud customer - in this case, is it usually possible to demand such change via support ticket?

While Jive Support cannot assist in running DB level changes in Jive Cloud environments, if you would like assistance updating the email's for your user accounts in bulk there are a couple of options available.
1. If you are interested in developing a tool which leverages the API (Jive REST API v3.14 ) I would recommend checking out the Developer space here in the Jive Community where you can collaborate with other developers on potential custom options available.
2. If you would like assistance developing a custom solution for your instance our Professional Service's team can work with you to determine the scope of the project and assist in creating a tool for your instance. For example the User Sync Connector might meet your needs. Please either reach out to your account manager or submit a case in your customer group if you are interested in pursuing this option.
