Is there a way to turn off the control key editing shortcuts on the Mac?

The Jive editor adds the standard Mac shortcuts like Command-B, and additional ones like Command-K for links. That's great.

However it also adds the standard *Windows* shortcuts like Control-B and Control-K. That's really annoying.

Those keys are standard editing keys in every Mac textarea, and I've been using them for 15 years on the Mac, and before that for another 20 years in Emacs. Just typing this I managed to accidentally bold things 3 or 4 times and brought up the link editor once. Those shortcuts are wired into my fingers, and they are a standard part of the Mac UI (and the iPad as well--I use them there).

How can I disable the control equivalents? Or if it's the only option, all of the shortcuts.
