Re: Featured employee (or employee spotlight) with tiles – how do you approach?

I am using Jive-n V 8 and when i go into the settings to see the tiles i come across this one under people called featured people:
From there, the tile says that you can add up to 10 people as seen here:
The only thing that is different is i cannot see a description of the person that is featured. I haven't been using tiles that much, so I haven't played with this feature as much
I hope that this helps you,
Raul

lorilea Sep 21, 2016 1:11 PM (in response to radelgado)1 person found this helpfulRaul, you're right. That tile does allow you to feature someone, but the widget version offers more information about the person. I should have clarified that I really liked the way it allowed us to share details about their role in the company, where they work and a nice photo. A mini bio that gives people enough information to decide if they want to follow that person directly or go to their profile and read some more. And it's very simple to create. I feel like the tile version is really missing a lot of what made this widget valuable.

radelgado Sep 22, 2016 6:30 AM (in response to lorilea)I agree with you on that. I have been re-purposing the featured user Widget to showcase the regional directors in our agency across the state. I tried playing with the tiles before and i could not figure out a way to replicate that widget.

jrafter Sep 22, 2016 11:03 AM (in response to lorilea)1 person found this helpfulWe feature users monthly based(roughly) on participation/model behavior/ etc. both for our community and the tool it supports and we use this as a small reward/incentive mechanism. It's important to note that we are supporting the implementation of a new tool, so our approach reflects that goal. We actually visit them, deliver a coffee card and have a quick chat, from there our comms person does a short write up and posts it to our community blog. We then add that link in the title as an action link " Read more about our featured users".
We(well my team because I am in digital land) actually visit them, deliver a coffee card, and have a quick chat, from there our comms person does a short write up and posts it to our community blog. We then add that link in the title as an action link " Read more about our featured users" that lead them to blog post. A little labor intensive for a lot of situations, but I feel like that action link could lead to a static page, search with tag, etc.

Hi Lori,
Have you posted a request for a Featured Member tile in Ideas for Jive? There may already be one out there (it's worth a search), but in any case it sounds like there is a lot of interest around this and I'm sure it would get enough votes for roadmap consideration. You'd certainly get my vote! I need it for my external community as well.
Thanks,
Jill
