    Critical Usability issue in uploading videos

      Hi,

       

      One of our customers invited all the sales people to uplaod short videos of how they sell the products. a total of more that 1400 videos were uploaded, but users had many usability issues with the file upload.

       

      1. Videos cannot be uploaded from the mobile (Jive X community)

       

      2. Critical usability issue - When uploading a video from the desktop 25% of the users failed to upload the video. That is since  250 users did not find the "publish" option.

       

      what they did is the following:

       

       

      Once received "Upload Successful" they left the window knowing that the process was completed.

       

      Can we do one of the following:

      1. Move the "Publish" option to the top

       

      2. Rephrase the Disclaimer and add something like "Make sure to fill the fields bellow and click on Publish".

       

       

       

       

       

      This is a misleading notification;

       

       

      Can we change it to:

      The first step of upload in completed. Add the Title and scroll down to click on publish.

       

      As I said, 25% of the users understood that the upload was completed and did not click on publish.

          Hi Galit,

           

          Reviewing through your description, it is my understanding that these users did not complete the video creation process and instead closed out of the video creation menu once they had uploaded their file.

           

          Can we change it to:

          The first step of upload in completed. Add the Title and scroll down to click on publish.

          If you are on a Jive Custom build (Jive 8 for example) you should be able to customize this message through the use of a custom theme in your instance.

           

          Or if you are on Jive Cloud and would like to see the ability to modify the layout of the video creation process added to a future release I would recommend submitting an improvement idea to the Ideas for Jive space here in the Jive Community where our Product Managers review through top rated ideas when considering feature for future releases (as a note, if you are not a member of this space you can request access via the Are you a customer?               Thanks for the reply,

               

              Indeed the users did not fill in the whole process of uploading a video-

              but they thought they had completed it...

               

              We are checking this question for a  Jive Cloud customer, so in that case

              can this be done may be via professional services?

                  Hi Galit,

                   

                  For Jive Cloud it might be possible to re-label some of the text fields present in the video creation process, however a restructure of the page will most likely not be possible. That being said, if you are interested in pursuing a PS engagement, please submit a case in your custom group or reach out to your account manager asa next step and they should be able to assist in getting this process started for you.
