    Why is the author property on content read only?

      Hey Jive Developers

       

      I'm wondering if there is any technical reason why the author field is read only? In both of our communities we often have users generate official content, if a power-user leaves the organization, it's not an ideal experience for the majority of content to be created by a deactivated user. It would also be handy to be able to create content and change the author, giving the illusion that a specific user created the content.

      I've been asked a number of times if we're able to change the author of content. I was going to create an Ideas for Jive about this, but figured I would do my diligence and see if there is a technical blocker.

       

      Any ideas?
