I have wondered the same over years, that we might have some read-only exposure to known defects. Could save lots of time triaging and preparing notes for a support case if we had it.
Maybe some special read-access to JIRA? Or some kind of tile that exposes select metadata to a place in JC?
Agreed. Often, we will go back and forth with an agent with none of us aware that it is a known bug. Most recently, I've been working with a support agent since November and we just found out others have experienced it and it was an already-filed bug. We all could save a lot of time!
