We have not yet connected Jive for Outlook, but we definitely count on doing it next year. We do hope indeed that this integration will work properly when we do it.
We have an open sort case regarding Jive for Outlook - for some users it's distorting views. It's in the Engineering level 2 support. Will report back here with any updates. I totally agree with you Tracy , we need confidence in the toolset to continue using it!
Thanks guys for your feedback here!
For us (and not just me personally), the latest Jive for Outlook release broke:
- Streams - they are grayed out and therefore not usable
- Replying to posts - get error messages
- Copying those replies into the system also then gives errors
- Creating a discussion from an email thread doesn't work - errors
- Can't create a new discussion from Outlook - errors
This is why I said that it basically doesn't work. The only things I can do is see the full thread so that the comment is in context; and reply to direct messages. And so far, nothing from support, although I was able to do a GoToMeeting with someone this week, so I'm hopeful that may change. We'll see.
Hey Tracy - these regressions are troubling. What version is stable, could you advise? -Mike.
I'm on 30.7.54, but was actually several versions back before that (my add-on wasn't auto-updating). Based on Keeley Sorokti's experience, I would assume .53 worked fine. And actually, .54 worked OK for her for a while and then broke. So I was assuming it might have been something done on the back-end at Jive that made the difference. Or maybe it has to do with the specific version of Windows or MS Outlook. It is all still very unclear to me what caused the shift.
I'm still hopeful something will come from my meeting this week, as the support rep seemed very knowledgeable about Outlook and Microsoft products in general. But I think the expertise on the add-on side is what is currently missing.
